- Drink an
ominous bottle for Bad Omen, then walk into a village to start a raid. - Raids have 3 waves on Easy, 5 on Normal, 7 on Hard.
- Win and you get Hero of the Village (cheaper trades) plus totems from evokers.
Raids are tough but worth it: they're the only renewable way to get Totems of Undying. Here's how they work.
How a raid starts
- Kill a raid captain (the pillager carrying a banner) to get an
ominous bottle. - Drink it to get Bad Omen.
- Walk into a village. Bad Omen turns into Raid Omen, and the raid starts when it runs out.
Changed your mind?Drink milk before the Raid Omen runs out to cancel the raid.
Waves
3waves on Easy
5waves on Normal
7waves on Hard
Each wave is bigger than the last. Expect pillagers, vindicators, witches, ravagers and, in later waves, evokers.
Watch the evokersEvokers summon vexes that fly through walls, and fang attacks from the ground. Kill them first.
How to lose
You lose the raid if the village stops being a village, which happens if all the villagers die. Hide villagers away from the fight if you can.
Rewards
| Reward | What it does |
|---|---|
| Hero of the Village | Big discounts on villager trades for a while |
| Totems of Undying | Every evoker drops one |
| Emeralds and gear | Raider drops, plus gifts from villagers on Java |
Raids in HardcoreRavagers and evokers hit hard. Fight with full armour, a shield and a totem in your off-hand, and fight from behind walls rather than in the open.
