Infinite Lava With Dripstone

One lava source, endless buckets.

A lava bucket surrounded by pointed dripstone, a cauldron, a dripstone block and a furnace on dripstone
Quick answer
  • Put a lava source on top of a block, with Pointed dripstone hanging under it.
  • Place a Cauldron below the dripstone.
  • The cauldron fills with lava about every 19 minutes, forever.

Lava is the best furnace fuel in the game. One bucket smelts 100 items. With dripstone, you never run out.

How to build it

  1. Place a solid block, then put a lava source on top of it. Wall it in with non-flammable blocks.
  2. Hang pointed dripstone from the bottom of that block.
  3. Put a cauldron under the dripstone. The gap can be up to 10 blocks, with nothing in between.
Fire safetyKeep wood and wool well away from the lava. Use stone or cobblestone around it.

How fast it fills

To get more lava, build more of them side by side. Then collect the lava from each cauldron with an empty bucket.

Using it

Use the lava in furnaces for huge batches. You keep the bucket after it burns, so just refill it from the cauldron.
