- Mineshafts are wooden tunnels underground, with rails down the middle.
- Look for Minecart with chest carts by the walls for loot.
- Thick
Cobweb patches usually mean a cave spider spawner.
Mineshafts are great for ores and loot, but they're a maze and cave spiders can poison you fast.
What they look like
Long 3×3 tunnels with oak supports, fences and broken rails. In badlands, mineshafts can be right out on the surface.
Loot
Chest minecarts sit along the tunnel walls. They can hold rails, food, golden apples and sometimes an enchanted golden apple or diamonds. Grab the
Rail pieces too, they're free.
Cave spider spawners
- Cave spiders are small, fit through tiny gaps and poison you.
- Their spawners are wrapped in cobwebs.
- Clear webs with
Shears, a sword or a water bucket.
Approach from aboveDig down to the spawner from above instead of walking through the webs, then place torches around it to stop it spawning.
Don't get lost
Place a
Torch and a block at every junction, always on the same side. Follow them back to get out.
MilkCarry a milk bucket. It clears cave spider poison instantly.
