- Craft a Recovery compass from 8 Echo shard items and a
Compass. - It points to where you last died.
- It only works in the same dimension as your death.
Dying far from home is the worst. A recovery compass leads you straight back to your stuff.

Getting echo shards
Echo shards only come from chests in ancient cities, deep underground in the deep dark. Sneak carefully, the Warden lives there.
Using it
- Craft it and keep it in your inventory.
- When you die and respawn, hold it.
- Follow the needle to where you died.
Same dimension onlyIf you died in the Nether, the compass spins in the Overworld. Go through a portal first.
Be quickDropped items vanish after 5 minutes. Keep a spare set of gear at your base so you can rush back.
Keep it safe
If you die with the compass, it drops too. Leave it in a chest by your bed so it's always waiting when you respawn.
