- A
Sculk sensor hears vibrations up to 8 blocks away and gives a redstone signal. - A
Sculk shrieker calls the warden after you set it off too many times. - Sneaking makes no vibrations, and
wool blocks them.
Sculk blocks cover the deep dark under ancient cities. Some just look creepy. Others can get you killed.
The blocks
| Block | What it does |
|---|---|
| Decoration. Drops XP when mined without Silk Touch | |
| Thin covering on walls | |
| Hears vibrations, outputs redstone | |
| Shrieks and warns the warden | |
| Spreads sculk when mobs die near it |
Staying quiet
- Sneak everywhere in the deep dark. Sneaking doesn't trigger sensors.
- Place
White wool or any wool on top of sensors to cover them. - Breaking sensors and shriekers with a hoe is quick.
The wardenEach shriek raises a warning level. On the fourth warning, the warden comes out of the ground.
Redstone uses
Sensors make great hidden switches. A calibrated sculk sensor, made with 3 amethyst shards, only listens for certain vibrations.
Silk TouchYou need Silk Touch to collect sculk blocks. Shriekers you place yourself never summon the warden.
