What lightning changes

Skeleton horses
Sometimes lightning spawns a skeleton trap horse. Go near it and four skeleton riders appear. Beat them and you can keep the skeleton horses.
Lightning rods
A Lightning rod pulls nearby lightning strikes onto itself, protecting wooden builds from fire. On Java it attracts strikes from up to 128 blocks away.
Lightning farmPut a lightning rod over a creeper or a mooshroom to make charged creepers or brown mooshrooms on purpose.
Channeling
A trident with Channeling summons lightning on the mob it hits during a storm. It's the other way to make lightning happen where you want.
Sleeping
You can sleep in a bed during any thunderstorm, even at noon. It's the easiest way to end one.
Monsters in the dayDuring storms, hostile mobs can spawn wherever there's no block light, even in daytime. Keep your base lit.
