Quick answer

Setting one up
- Place a hook on a block wall.
- Place a second hook on the opposite wall, facing the first.
- Place string on every block between them. The hooks click into place when connected.
- Run redstone from the blocks behind the hooks.
Removing it safely
Breaking the string by hand sets it off. Use Shears to cut it without triggering anything.
Jungle templesJungle temples have tripwires hooked to dispensers full of arrows. Cut them with shears.
