A throwable gust that launches you, mobs and doors.

A wind charge surrounded by a breeze rod, a mace, a lever and an oak door on tuff bricks
Quick answer
  • 1 Breeze rod crafts into 4 wind charges.
  • Throw one at your feet to launch about 6 blocks up.
  • They knock mobs back and flip doors, levers and buttons.

Wind charges are one of the most fun items in the game. They're a mobility tool, a weapon and a remote control in one.

Getting them

Kill breezes in trial chambers for breeze rods, then craft each rod into 4 wind charges. They stack to 64.

Launching yourself

  1. Look straight down.
  2. Jump and throw a wind charge at your feet.
  3. You fly up about 6 blocks.
~6blocks of launch height
0.5 scooldown between throws
Less fall damageAfter a launch, fall damage only counts from the height where the burst hit you, not from the top of your jump.

With the mace

Launch up with a wind charge, then come down with a Mace for a huge smash attack.

Remote control

  • Opens and closes wooden doors, trapdoors and fence gates.
  • Flips levers, presses buttons and rings bells.
  • Puts out lit candles.
Barely any damageA direct hit does just 1 damage. Use it for knockback, not to kill.
