Quick answer
- Craft a Candle from 1 string and 1 honeycomb.
- Place up to 4 candles in one block. Each lit candle gives 3 light.

Candles are small, cosy light sources. They come in 16 colours and stack up to 4 in a block.

Crafting
Put string on top of Honeycomb in a crafting grid. Get honeycomb by using shears on a full beehive or bee nest. Then craft a candle with any dye to colour it.

Not for mob proofingA single candle is too dim to stop mobs spawning nearby. Use torches or lanterns for that.
Candle cake
Use a candle on a full Cake to put it on top, then light it. You can only add one candle per cake.
Putting them out
Use an empty hand on a lit candle to blow it out. Candles placed underwater can't be lit.
