- The Nether has 5 biomes.
- Warped forests are the safest, with only endermen around.
- Basalt deltas are the hardest to cross.
Each Nether biome has its own mobs and blocks. Knowing them helps you pick where to build and where to avoid.
The 5 biomes
| Biome | Main blocks | Mobs |
|---|---|---|
| Nether wastes | Zombified piglins, ghasts, piglins, magma cubes | |
| Crimson forest | Hoglins, piglins, zombified piglins | |
| Warped forest | Endermen | |
| Soul sand valley | Skeletons, ghasts, endermen | |
| Basalt deltas | Basalt, blackstone, magma | Magma cubes, ghasts |
Forests
Both forests grow huge fungus trees. Crimson forests are dangerous because of hoglins. Warped forests are calm, and hoglins avoid warped fungus.
Soul sand valley
Soul sand slows you down, and skeletons and ghasts make it risky. It's also where you find big fossils, and soul soil for soul torches.
Basalt deltas
Jagged ground, lots of lava and magma cubes. Build a bridge or go around.
StridersStriders spawn on lava seas in every Nether biome.
