- In the Overworld, use a bed to set your spawn.
- In the Nether, use a charged
Respawn anchor. - Beds explode in the Nether and the End. Anchors explode outside the Nether.
Dying far from home is a long walk back. Setting your spawn near where you're working saves a lot of time.
Beds
Use a bed to set your spawn point, even during the day. You'll respawn next to it after dying.
Respawn anchors
Craft one from 6 Crying obsidian and 3 Glowstone blocks.
- Place it in the Nether.
- Use glowstone blocks on it to charge it, up to 4 charges. Glowstone dust doesn't work.
- Use it with an empty hand to set your spawn.
When the charges run out, you respawn at world spawn instead, so keep it topped up.
Getting back to your stuff
Note your coordinates before risky trips, so you can find your items after you respawn. Items on the ground disappear after 5 minutes.
